Audio recording sampling frequency

Hi there,
i was interested in creating an application to record audio from the smartphone microphone but with the chance of select specs like sampling frequency, number of channels and file extension. I know how to record and save audio but everytime it comes out in .3gp format, monophonic and with a sampling frequency of 8 kHz (even though my smartphone is capable to reach 44.1 kHz, .wav sterephonic file). I would like to give the user the possibility to choose the quality of the audio. Does Mit App Inventor give access to this properties?
