Technical Preview: Keyboard Navigation

As part of Google Summer of Code 2024, @Venky has added keyboard navigation to App Inventor. This should allow for the creation of apps as well as designing simple user interfaces without the use of a mouse. Blocks editing has some features, but we expect most keyboard navigation of blocks to be part of the Blockly library and its plugins.

You can take a look here.

A list of shortcuts can be found under Help->Show Keyboard Shortcuts or Alt-?.

Thanks to our GSoC contributors for making this such a great summer in GSoC.

En caso que se use una distribución de teclado distinta a inglés, como es mi caso que utilizo la distribución español latinoamericano para usar el shortcut Alt + ?
tengo que usar esta combinación marcada en rojo.

Thank you for reporting this. You're right -- not all of the shortcuts work on non-English layouts. That's a bug. We're working on it.

Hello Community

In addition to the new shortcuts, some keyboard navigation features have also been added. You can see them in action in the demo video at this link: demo1.mp4 - Google Drive
